GPS was founded in 1999 as a spin-off from the Fraunhofer Institute for Production Engineering and Automation in Stuttgart and has successfully participated in numerous national and European research projects in robotics. Over time, the focus of activities increasingly shifted to the Industry 4.0 sector.
Since March 2017, GPS has been part of the Schmalz Group, the world market leader in vacuum technology for automation, handling and clamping technology. Since then, it has focused on the development of digital solutions for data provision, aggregation and visualization in production and logistics within the Industry 4.0 environment.
